MSU President’s Pay Very Low or Very High, Depending on Comparison

One day before the Montana Board of Regents meets to decide on a salary offer to Montana State University’s next president, the University System reported that the job’s current salary is at least $100,000 below what similar universities pay. MSU currently pays its president $205,050, or $127,000 less than the 32-university average. What’s not in the report is the fact that Montana’s top three university executives are already among the state’s highest.
