Governor Welcomes Cruzado as Next President
Published November 20, 2009
“Gov. Brian Schweitzer welcomed Waded Cruzado as the incoming president of Montana State University on Thursday, and made a point of welcoming her dogs, too,” reports the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. “The governor, whose Border collie Jag was at his side, made a brief appearance at the Montana Board of Regents meeting on the Bozeman campus. Cruzado, 49, now executive vice president and provost at New Mexico State University, will become MSU’s new president Jan. 1. She will replace Geoff Gamble, 67, who is retiring after nine years as president.” “We know you’ll be successful, as Geoff was before you,” the governor said. “It’s obvious you’re not part of the old boy network, not being old, or a boy, or part of a Montana network.”
